Prior to working at Lacordaire, personnel must have Protecting God’s Children Certification and Background Check/Fingerprinting completed.  Training for Protecting God’s Children will be facilitated by the school once references are checked.

We now need a talented and charismatic Art Teacher and a Part-time Second Grade Teacher to join our school community.

Art Teacher

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building a classroom culture in which students love art!
  • Engaging students in the creative process and cultivating their talents, while deepening their knowledge and understanding of visual art and art history
  • Collaborating with our teachers and across the local communities network to build a world-class art program, while cultivating a school environment that prioritizes aesthetics and makes learning visible to the community
  • Building a culture of self-expression that utilizes discourse and critique to promote scholarly critical thinking about art and identity
  • Working with administration to provide an open and vibrant classroom that allows for alumni, prospective families, and students to witness the creative process at our school
  • Ability to teach across multiple grade levels (PreK —12th Grades)

Successful candidates should also have the following experiences and characteristics:

  • Prior experience in establishing creative environments in which art is explored, discovered, and observed both in and out of the classroom
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Art or Art Education, with an outstanding record of academic achievement and leadership;
  • A person of high moral character; and passionate about art and learning
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills preferred
  • A willingness to work in a fast paced environment is essential
  • A great team player with a good sense of humor
  • A pleasant personality that enjoys interacting with children of all ages, parents, administration, and staff

Part-Time Second Grade Teacher
