Gabriella Mazal ’19 Receives Michael Aymar Foundation Award

Every year, the Michael Aymar Foundation, named for Lacordaire Academy English Teacher Michael Aymar, awards one young person with the Foundation Speaking Award in memory of Mr. Aymar’s love of language. This year, Gabriella Mazal of the Class of 2019 received the award, which was presented by her Forensics Team Coach, Mrs. Mary Thornton. Mrs. Thornton had this to say about this year’s award winner:

“Congratulations to Gabriella Mazal, the 2018 recipient of the Michael Aymar Speaking Award. Gabriella has selflessly given her time to both the Forensics Team as General Manager, and the Debate Team as Captain over the past year.  She is a talented, but humble, young woman that quietly, behind the scenes, gets the job done. Gabriella has generously sacrificed her personal time to mentor young debaters while managing the many executive duties of the Forensics Team. Gabriella is the embodiment of the characteristics that represent former teacher Mr. Michael Aymar in whose name this award was created. Gabriella is an amazing young woman possessing many gifts, all of which she is happy to share with her fellow classmates. We are extremely proud of her accomplishments and pleased to honor her with this award.”

Congratulations, Gabriella! For more information on the Michael Aymar Foundation, please visit their website:
