A few weeks ago in February, the Lacordaire Middle School Shakespeare Players surprised their classmates with a “flash mob” performance of the balcony scene from Romeo & Juliet. The performance was part of a competition sponsored by the Folgers Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. in honor of Valentine’s Day. The results are in… and Lacordaire has won!
The students have won a “digital visit” with a Folgers Librarian to discuss their Shakespearean education and their upcoming performance of The Taming of the Shrew. We are so proud of our Middle Schoolers, and a special thanks to Ms. Coleman for organizing and rehearsing the flash mob! You can see the full performance video here.
The Taming of the Shrew premieres at Lacordaire Academy on Tuesday, May 8th at 7:00pm.
