Middle School Shakespeare Players Impress at Shakespeare Festival

On Wednesday, May 2nd, the Middle School Shakespeare Players took a portion of their upcoming production of The Taming of the Shrew on the road to the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison, NJ as part of the Shakesperience Festival sponsored by the Folgers Shakespeare Library. One of only two Middle Schools in attendance, the Lacordaire Players gave an outstanding performance to a full house of other students, and received feedback from the staff of the Shakespeare Theater itself.

Several students were acknowledged for their performances in particular, including 8th graders Matthew DeSopo and Kevin Whitworth, and 7th graders Misha Parikh, Diego Pasini, and Gabriel Margolies. The students enjoyed the day, not only performing, but acting as audience for the other schools, as well as participating in some fun Shakespeare-based games in between shows.

7th grader Benedict Marra has a duel of wits with a fellow Shakespearean.

The Taming of the Shrew shows at Lacordaire Academy at 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 8th. Come see what is sure to be a truly outstanding Shakesperience!

Come see the entire cast of “The Taming of the Shrew” in their production on May 8th at 7:00pm!
