Last Thursday, April 12th, Middle School students spent the day at the New Jersey State House in Trenton. The day began at the State House Museum with a Q&A session with Cary Booker from the Governor’s office.
Students then embarked on a tour of the State House, getting to see up close and personal where the laws of our state are made.
The children were then given special access to the Assembly floor where Assemblyman Chiaravalloti of Bayonne answered the students’ questions about the voting process.
This wonderful field trip provided our students a wealth of knowledge about the legislative process and the opportunity to see democracy in action. A special thank you goes out to our own Mrs. Thornton and Assemblyman Chiaravalloti for helping to organize the trip!
