  • Qualified for Blue Ribbon School based on 2011 Terra Nova (TN) Test Scores for grades 1-7 (Lacordaire could not qualify again until 2016 due to class size.)
  • Grades 2-8 scored an average of 13.4 percentile points higher than the Archdiocese of Newark’s 2015 Median percentile TerraNova score comparable grades
  • 4th grade TerraNova Writing Assessment 2012 Median NP Score: 98% (This is the last time this assessment was given.)
  • 7th Grade TerraNova Writing Assessment 2012 Median NP Score: 91% (This is the last time this assessment was given.)
  • COOP 2015 Median National Percentages:  91% Reading, 92% Language and 85% Math Lacordaire Academy Scores were on average 20 percentile points higher than the average for schools in the Archdiocese of Newark.
  • Award Winning Forensics Team: North Jersey League Champions  9 times in the last 10 years; First place in the league 2015 and 4th at Union Catholic Tournament in 2015

Academic Philosophy

Lacordaire Academy strives to deliver a challenging interactive curriculum that engages students, strengthens communication skills, encourages critical thinking and problem solving and promotes global awareness, character development, and creativity.

Campus

The Academy is located in Upper Montclair on a picturesque three acre campus,  a short distance from resources such as the Montclair Art Museum, Montclair Public Library, and Montclair State University.

Faculty

Our diverse and dynamic faculty all hold Teaching Certificates in Education and/or advanced degree(s)  in their fields or subject areas.  Photography, dance, film, art and theatre are taught by professionals in the respective fields.
