In the Dominican tradition, Lacordaire students learn to think critically and creatively, to problem solve independently, and to communicate effectively. The Academy is known for its challenging academics and its commitment to small class size. A nurturing environment enables each student to reach his or her fullest potential in and out of the classroom. A talented, diverse, and dedicated faculty use inquiry and project-based learning strategies and are well versed in the latest educational “best practices,” and initiatives. Lacordaire’s engaging, fun, and values based curriculum prepares students, not just for the next educational goal, but for life. Field trips, Intersession Week, Re-enactments and Project Justice, in addition to an extensive selection of electives, extracurricular activities, and sports, enrich our students’ lives and continue lessons beyond the limits of a classroom. Global awareness, strong technology skills, an appreciation for the Arts, character development and life skills, as well as an ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group are the central themes and objectives across the curriculum in pre-k through 12th grade.
