UPPER SCHOOL Admissions Procedures

Hello Lacordaire Upper School applicants! Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 (for enrollment for the 2021-22 school year) is the deadline for a completed application and all required accompanying documents for admission to the Lacordaire Upper School.

This fall, there will be no COOP/HSPT test requirement for admission. Due to COVID, the test has been canceled for the 2020-21 year.

  • Completed Online Application: APPLY HERE
  • $75.00 non-refundable application fee. This payment is made online via the online application.
  • Submission of one of the following standardized tests: Terra Nova / NJ ASK / PARCC / SSAT / ISEE
  • Submission of three years of academic transcripts
  • Submission of two teacher recommendations (not required if you are applying from Lacordaire Middle School): DOWNLOAD TEACHER RECOMMENDATION FORM HERE

  • Prospective students are required to meet the Director of Admissions, Head of School, and current Lacordaire Upper School Student Ambassadors. At this time, we are meeting with prospective students virtually by appointment or via their attendance at our Future Freshman Coffee Talk Session on October 29th, 2020.   • Applicants who are eligible for our various academic scholarships will be notified by Lacordaire Academy to apply. Notifications for eligibility will be communicated after receiving a complete application for enrollment. Descriptions of these academic scholarships are located on the TUITION/FINANCIAL AID section of the website.
  • Applicants who are applying for financial aid can APPLY HERE. The submission deadline for financial aid for 2021-22 school year is December 15, 2020. Financial aid applicants MUST also apply for The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children. This scholarship application is available on the S.F.I.C.N.J. website on on February 1, 2021.
  • Applicants will be notified of their admission’s status via email and regular mail on Friday, January 15th, 2021, after 3 p.m.

  • Submission of two years of academic transcripts for grades 2nd through 4th, one year of academic transcripts(any type of report card with teacher feedback) for PK,K, and 1st grade applicants
  • Submission of most recent standardized tests for grades 2nd through 4th
  • Submission of two teacher recommendations for 2nd through 4th grade applicants,and one teacher recommendation for PK, Kindergarten and 1st grade applicants.: DOWNLOAD FORM HERE

  • Submission of a copy of birth certificate
  • All K through 4th grade applicants are asked to participate in an academic assessment via Zoom meeting with one of our teachers. This assessment is to ensure that Lacordaire Academy can meet all of their academic needs.
