DUE TO THE DIFFICULTY WITH TESTING IN RECENT DAYS AND THE FACT THAT RESULTS ARE BEING RECEIVED LATER THAN EXPECTED, LACORDAIRE HAS DECIDED TO EXTEND WINTER BREAK TO INCLUDE MONDAY, JANUARY 3RD. WE WILL THEN REOPEN THE ACADEMY FOR IN-PERSON LEARNING ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 4TH.
This will allow all constituents an additional day to receive their test results and for the Academy to be fully staffed for the return of students. To reiterate, Monday, January 3rd will NOT be a school day, just an extension of the break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4th. Please see below for further information.
ALL students, faculty and staff will still be required to show a negative PCR test upon return from the break on January 4th. If you have not done so already, please make an appointment for a test ASAP as they are becoming increasingly hard to find. Once you are tested, PLEASE limit your exposure to others.
Due to the increase in turn around times for tests, we strongly suggest that you take a test no later than Saturday, January 1st. If you take one later or do not get results back in time, you will not be able to come to school until a negative test is received.
During drop off/in the car line on January 4th, all parents will be asked to show an administrator proof of their child’s negative test. You should not drop off your child and leave until their test has been checked. We will be checking test results in the driveway, as well as on Park Street. You may also park, walk up, and show us the result with your child.
Tuesday, January 4th will be a Day 4.
You can help us by keeping your child home from school if they have any symptoms at all or if they have been exposed to COVID. The nurse should then be contacted for further instructions.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and we will see you on Tuesday, January 4th!
