Laco Camps 2023

Here’s a peek into the various camps and activities that Lacordaire students have enjoyed so far this summer!

Fishing Camp

Students in Mr. Houston’s Fishing Camp adventured throughout the state of New Jersey – from local parks all the way down the shore – to catch and release a wide variety of aquatic wildlife! One of the many reasons why students look up to Mr. Houston is because he has a unique ability to teach valuable skills while always keeping the mood FUN!

Art Camp

Students in Mrs. Lima’s Art Camp explored many different mediums – ceramics, painting, printmaking, knitting, and drawing – this summer! Students love Mrs. Lima because, in addition to her unparalleled art skills, she embraces each child’s unique interests & talents and turns her classroom into a calm, safe space for creative exploration.

STREAM Camp

Ms. Clarrett’s STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math) students experimented with fun ways to discuss and solve the pressing issues that are impacting our world! Students love Ms. Clarrett because of her ability to make everyone feel like one big family!

Summer Reading Boot Camp

Ahhh, nothing better than seeing students cool, calm, relaxed, and reading! Ms. Coleman’s Summer Reading Boot Camp gathered on our gorgeous campus to kickstart their Laco summer reading assignments. Ms. Coleman is an all-around amazing role model to her Middle School students. In addition to being a trustworthy and caring person, she never fails to create a lively atmosphere with her creative sense of competition!

Holiday Camp

Ms. Beilitz and Ms. Hughes took students on a journey through the seasons while enjoying the nice summer weather! Students read stories and created exciting projects that reflected all of their favorite holidays. Ms. Bielitz and Ms. Hughes are the perfect duo! We can literally feel the love and care that they have for each individual student each time we walk into their classroom(s)! Feeling nurtured and supported in one’s early years of education sets the tone for the ability to tackle challenges, try new things, and approach learning with enthusiasm.r

Photography Camp

Mrs. Birnbaum’s photo camp students took a journey through the history of photography this morning. The group stepped outdoors, gathered objects, created their compositions, and exposed the objects (atop a coated, light-sensitive paper) to UV light, resulting in magical, vibrant blue photograms.
