Upper School students and faculty recently returned from a mission trip to the Texas/Mexico border, where the group served at a respite center for migrants run by Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley.
After meeting Sister Norma Pimentel, who is largely involved with this mission, students worked in the center’s warehouse sorting donations, helped the refugees at a hygiene station, and distributed clothing and supplies to help refugees make it to the next steps in their journeys.
Students were joined by volunteers from our sister schools, MSDA and St. Dominic Academy. We are eternally grateful to our sponsors, Caldwell Dominicans, for inspiring generation after generation of Lacordaire students to give back and serve others.
