Welcome from the Head of School

Welcome to Lacordaire Academy! As a premiere independent school rooted in the Catholic Dominican tradition, we provide an innovative and student-centered learning environment for grades Pre K through 12. Our students are encouraged to find their voice, take risks, imagine and grow with engaging teachers and supportive peers within their classrooms. Outside the classroom, students participate in the visual and performing arts, athletics, technology, and public speaking to name a few of the many opportunities we provide. They are leaders, teammates, moral citizens, and community advocates.

Lacordaire is home to a diverse student body in which the education is rigorous, forward-thinking and thought-provoking. Most importantly, we are grounded in the four Dominican pillars: prayer, study, service, and community. We are all working together to help form the “whole child,” addressing intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional development.

Whether you are a prospective student or family considering joining our community, an alum reconnecting with your alma mater, or a current family looking for information, we encourage you to explore our website to find out what we are all about. These pages will give you a glimpse of our Academy, signature programs, and all of the accomplishments of our community at Lacordaire.

If you have not visited in person, we encourage you to do so to see our amazing student body and top notch education first hand. What you will see is not only a school, but a community that cares deeply for each other. A place where each student is valued and families are an integral part of the learning process. You will see teachers who care deeply about their craft and take the time to give one on one attention to their students. You will realize how special of a place Lacordaire Academy is. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Head of School
